背景Introduction

当今中国与外部世界的关系正处于十字路口：一方面，自二战以来的国际发展合作与治理架构正遭遇重大挑战，自20世纪80年代以来的全球化正面临深刻转型，世界各国正以新的视角审视“不断兴起中”的中国；另一方面，中国在逐步走进世界经济舞台中心的过程中也在不断把握自身与外部世界的尺度，日趋丰富的海外发展新实践为其提供了中国视野下叙说全球的资源和素材。

The relationship between China and the outside world is at the crossroad. On the one hand, after the WWII, international cooperation and governance structure are faced with challenges. Since 1980s, globalization has been experiencing profound transformation. The “rising” China has been examined with new perspectives by various actors in the world. On the other hand, while approaching the center of world economic stage, China is trying to pursue the appropriateness between itself and the others. The accumulating resources and practices stimulate new narratives on development and development cooperation.

由此，中国如何从思想和实践领域推动新型发展知识的创生至关重要，这将直接影响了世界对中国的认知，也将重塑中国人对外部世界的想象。我们需要在古今之辩和中西之别中开辟出新的思想力量，用以理解或指引我们正在迈向的发展新格局。中国的知识界也正在捕捉当前不断涌现出来的发展新实践，以一种全新的主体意识探寻着某种新世界的模糊雏形。

Therefore, the generation of new developmental knowledge is significant for both intellectual debates and development practices. It will affect the world’s perceptions of China and reshape the Chinese imagination of the outside world as well. We need to open up the third approach in the debates between the ancient and modern times, and between China and the West, to understand or to guide us into the new development pattern we are heading towards. The intellectual community is also capturing new development practices that are emerging, exploring the fuzzy embryonic form of a new world with a brand-new subjective consciousness.

在此背景下，中国农业大学国际发展与全球农业学院、《文化纵横》共同举办本次高端发展知识学术讲坛。
